Arad Airfield

The story

Arad Airfield stands in the Arad valley, three kilometers southwest of the city, at a height of five hundred and ninety-five meters above sea level. It has one runway, 08/26, one thousand four hundred meters long, paved with asphalt. The airfield is active in daylight hours on all days of the week. In the past it was operated by the Arad Aviation Association, and today by the Omnitas company together with the Civil Aviation Authority. There is no refueling in it, and it has a firefighting crew of two people. Because the traffic in it is sparse, vehicle traffic and bicycle riding are also permitted in it, except in the hours of takeoff and landing. The development of the airfield for light flights, together with storage and maintenance services for light aircraft, is one of the directions of economic development that Arad has set for itself.
