Gav-Yam Negev Park

The story

Gav-Yam Negev Park is an office complex for the high-tech sector, in the northeast of Beersheba, between Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and the communications city of the IDF, and close to the Be'er Sheva North railway station. Partners in its establishment were the Gav-Yam company (56 percent), Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (11), the Beersheba municipality (11), and the investment company KUD International with foreign investors (22). That is, the research institution of the city and its local authority held together a fifth of the complex. The first building, 17,500 square meters, was moved into on 30 June 2013 by the EMC company, the university, Deutsche Telekom, Ness Technologies, the JVP fund and the INCUBIT incubator of Elbit Systems. The second was moved into at the end of 2014, and in it the RAD Data Communications company established a development center with an investment of 110 million shekels; at the end of 2015 the WeWork company rented space there and sublet part of it to the Taboola company. The third building was inaugurated and moved into in 2018 by Wix, IBM Israel and Rafael — Advanced Defense Systems; in September 2020 the RADA Electronic Industries company opened a development center in the park, and in May 2021 the CyberArk company. In the fourth building the school for computer professions has sat since 2022. The park extends over about 93 dunams, and 15 buildings are planned in it with a total area of 190,000 square meters. Four of them meet the Leed Silver green building standard, with smart systems for energy management and for the recycling of grey water. In January 2016 “the double helix bridge” was inaugurated, a pedestrian bridge that connects the park to the railway station.
