Offering

The story

“Offering” is a sculpture by Shlomit Averbuch, an Israeli sculptor and painter who in fifty years of creation has placed more than sixty sculptures throughout Israel and outside it; the most famous of them, “Their Swords into Plowshares”, has stood since 1983 in the Youth Park in Holon. The sculpture stands on the Sculpture Route at Hatzerim, about fifty-six meters from the sculpture “Sun” by Yonina Lamdan — the two sculptures nearest to each other among those that the route identifies by name. The route numbers thirty-nine sculptures, whose placing began in the year 2000 on the initiative of the artist and curator Marga Fishtein and her husband Israel.
