Gate of Prayers

The story

“Gate of Prayers” is a sculpture by Marga Fishtein — the artist and curator who initiated the Sculpture Route at Hatzerim together with her husband Israel. The two invited the artists of Israel to place at the sides of the route and on the hills around it works expressing an artistic statement that relates to the environment and to the space; the placing of the sculptures began in the year 2000, and the process of curating has continued since and has not stopped. Fishtein herself has two works on the route, “Gate of Prayers” and “To Make the Negev Bloom”. “Gate of Prayers” stands at the southernmost point among the sculptures of the route that bear a name, close to the sculptures of Haim Tedgi and Tanya Preminger.
