Yaakov Avinu Street

The story

Yaakov Avinu Street is the middle one of the three patriarch streets of Beersheba, and it runs in the north of the city, in the area of Neighborhood Dalet. It is shorter than Avraham Avinu Street to the north of it and is made up of six segments. Jacob is the third of the patriarchs, and Beersheba recurs in his story: according to the Book of Genesis he went out from Beersheba on his way to Haran, and to it he returned on his way to Egypt. The three streets — Abraham, Jacob and Isaac — stand almost on one axis and at a distance of less than a kilometer from each other, and that is what makes them a cluster and not three scattered names.
