Yatir Winery

The story

Yatir Winery stands in the heart of the Yatir forest, in the south of the Judean Hills, west of Arad. It was founded in 2000 as a joint venture of the vine growers of the area and of Carmel Wineries; it is owned by Carmel Mizrahi and enjoys full independence. The winemaker is Eran Goldwasser, who trained in Australia. The winery has two series of wines, "Yatir Forest" and "Yatir". The first wines that were marketed are from the 2001 vintage, and the winery produces about a hundred and fifty thousand bottles a year. In the Rogov guide to the wines of Israel for the year 2011 the wine critic Daniel Rogov ranked Yatir Winery as the second best winery in Israel.
